4th weekend: Bahamas!
This weekend I accomplished one of the goals on my bucket list, I went to Bahamas!

I had a couple of great days on the cruise ship Grand Celebration to Freeport, Bahamas.
I went with Mariana, Priscilla and Raquel - all brazilians so I sometimes tried to learn som portugese.
Can't really say that I remember anything though ;-)

We started off at 9:15 at Saturday morning when the transfer came to pick us up. We were informed that the cruise would departure from north Miami Beach, but it turn out to be Palm Beach, about 2 hours north from Miami. So we were a bit surprised. We arrived to Palm Beach and checked in to the ferry and began with a great lunchbuffeé with a lot of options, pasta, meat, fish and chips, fruits, desserts and more. Then we went out to the deck and found ourselves some sunchairs where we spent the afternoon. During the afternoon I took a break from the sun and got myself a nice massage at the cruise spa, they had a 50% discount on their massages that day, so I thought, why not...it's vacation ;-)
So I enjoyed about an hour deep massage - got rid of some nodes and felt like a new person.
We checked in at 12:00 and the ferry departured at 18:00.We had a all inclusive package which included food, water and juice. So any other drinks with alcohol or non-alcohol like sodas we had to pay for.
After showering and getting dressed for dinner we went to see the sunset - very beautiful! I love being at sea.

At dinner we had the oppurtunity to choose from an a lá carte menu, so we could get like 7-course menu if we wanted to. But we only did like 6 ;-) And it was included!
Course no 1 - A piece of ravioli with spinach in a nice sauce
Course no 2 - Shrimp coctail - very fresh and good!
Course no 3 - Corn soup with salami pieces
Course no 4 - Rib with potato cake - the meat was very dry and didn't taste anything so was not so satisfied...
Course no 5 - Chocolate cake in layes
Course no 6 - Mango sorbet

Except for the maincourse I was satisfied ;-)

After dinner we went to the Kasino and got some entertainment with music shows.
Then we tried our luck in Black Jack. I'm gonna be honest to say that I've never played it before and I'm not into gambling at all...but since Mariana and Raquel were playing I thought...wy not give it a try.
The lowest mount you could play with was 5$ - which was the only cash I had broght in my purse this evening, so I gave it a try. It took a couple of rounds before I got the point of the game but I'm happy to announce that I walked away with 33$ after starting with only one 5$ mark. I was happy. Got some money back after all the fees and weird charges they have everywhere on these cruises. So at 33$ I stopped playing and got the cash and then went to bed. Mariana and Raquel had both put is 50$ and lost it so they tried to win it back but I don't think it went so well :-)

Next day we had our whole day at Freeport, Bahamas! We booked the tour "Luxury Sailing" which included 2,5 hour sailing and snorkelling with lunch and open bar, and also a afternoon at the Bahamas Adventure Resort with open bar and activities. So after a nice breakfast buffeé with a lot of nice food and WAFFLES, we went on our tour. The sailing was amazing. The weather was perfect, blue sky with only a few clouds and the sea clearblue and shining around us. We started off the sailing with a Mimosa before laying down to enjoy the sun on deck. After approx an hour sailing around Freeport at Grand Bahamas we stopped for some snorkelling at a reef. A year ago there was a big hurricane Matthew destroyed a lot of parts of Bahamas. You could see a lot of buildings disused because of the damages. And among them also the reef was damaged. The corals were very grey and almost gone. But we saw a lot of colourful fishes, a manta ray and a curious barracuda following us. I bought myself a underwater camera so I took some pictures I'm gonna develop these pictures when I come home :-)

After the sailing we were taken to the resort where we spent our afternoon enjoying a nice beach, sun, wateractivities, more snorkelling, open bar and just having fun. The water was beautiful. So clear and blue!

Before we left the resort I got myself some souvenirs, a shotglass with the Bahamas Island on it, and a magnet shaped like a seashell. We went back to the ship with our transfer and when we got onboard, all we wanted to do was to jump in the pool, it was very hot outside, but somehow me, Mariana and Priscilla ended up on deck dancing Zuma for half an hour in the sunshine. It was fun! There was a Zumba competition, which Mariana won! She won a drink - Bahama Mama. THEN we got to the pool and got ourselves some nice icrecream B-) After showering we went to the Grand theatre at the ship and watched a entertainment show including an illusionist, a comedian (but he wasn't that funny) and a lot of nice music and dancing number.

After the show we watched the sunset, beautiful just like the day before. It's something enchanting about sunsets by the horizon of the sea..I love it.

After the sunset we went to dinner and enjoyed a nice glass of wine. Then we went to a party and danced salsa among others. After showing our dancing moves we found a Karaoke stage where we participated with "I will survive" together. Me singing and the girls being my dancers. So much fun, I think we had more fun than the audience though ;-) But who cares, we will probably never meet those people again! (that's what the host said) haha...

After Karaoke we found a gameroom with Wii Just dance! So we tried the 4-player game and shaked our booties to "Uptown funk" and some more songs. Then we went to our cabins to get some sleep. It had been a long day in the sun, but a wonderful day :-)

So this morning we got some breakfast buffeé and then we sadly had to leave the boat and get back to school. We had to stay in line to immigration for an hour, then we got out to be transfered back to Miami Beach again.
I had a blast! It was a bit more expensive then I had planned...but that's only because of all the "hidden fees" they have in this country....mandatory tips and fees for fuel with others....I hate hidden fees.

But I ignore that now because I had a great weekend with awesome people at Bahamas so I'm happy :-)

Spent my monday afternoon in my room, taking a nap and doing some homework. Played BINGO tonight and won a EF Miami-flag to put on my wall. Woho! And then we got icecream!
But now I'm gonna go to sleep and charge my battery for to tomorrow's lessons and activities.

Hope you all had a nice weekend and I wish you a fantastic week!

Kisses and hugs <3
